ABUJA
As we developed the idea for NGage, we had to put into consideration the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and events, and how it would impact the idea of an application that connects you to EVERYTHING.
To prepare for the launch, we recruited a team of business research analysts and decided to focus on listings that were not restricted in operation due to the effects of the pandemic. Our first point to focus on? Abuja restaurants and entertainment locations. I would be quick to point out a couple of facts here
(1) I am NOT a foodie
(2) I don’t reside in Abuja
A couple of bags and flights later, we are in Abuja. After conducting some research online, we created a list of places to visit to create listings in preparation for the NGage launch. To be honest, after a two-week tour of about 23 locations (so far) I can tell you for a FACT…. there a LOT of fabulous locations here offering a variety of tasty dishes and activities to keep you longing for more.
I have been to rustic places, rooftop lounges, pastry parlours, the BIGGEST nightclub I ever visited and more than a few fancy restaurants. I have eaten Indian and Bulgarian food, spaghetti meals prepared by Italian chefs and lamb chops that made my mouth water. I have explored Abuja in ways I wasn’t even prepared for and I have had an amazing experience so far. At the end of each day, I have written reviews in my diary about my experiences and while I can say I have enjoyed most of these places, I am only going to write about a couple that have created a lasting impression.
(1) Brooke lounge and restaurant
Last Sunday, we decided to meet for dinner and invited a few friends. From the few photos we found online, the place looked really beautiful and classy. Matter of fact, it looked so good we decided to dress accordingly. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a number for reservations and had to head there hoping they’ll be able to handle our large party at short notice.
On arrival, it was pleasantly surprising that our waiting period didn’t last more than 15 minutes and we had a table prepared for a party of twelve. Dinner was very well prepared and I don’t remember anyone complain about their order, even though we all had different things to eat. I would also commend the service as the waiters were really polite and well- mannered, and our meals came in good time. It was quite hilarious the distance I walked to use the bathroom though.
Brook lounge and restaurant is perfect for a date night, or just an evening among friends…. the music was very refreshing. The most striking aspect of the evening was the fact that everyone was posing for photos. The ambience is extremely classy and I don’t blame anyone for wanting to document the night out. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely make out time to revisit.

(2) Bustle.
I am only going to have to repeat this a few times, BUSTLE is impressive. Our first experience was to attend the birthday dinner party for an elder cousin at 50. Our dining experience was unrivalled. The Chef was probably was in his element because the meals were excellent. The wine cellar is enormous, and we were treated to a few rare vintage bottles. At the end of dinner, we were treated to some wild geese and lamb chops. These platters of “expensive” and “not to common” meat were otherworldly. I thought the presentation of the meal (with all the fanfare) was impressive until I had a taste of the servings.
The restaurant has beautiful decor, really comfortable seating areas and is sparkling clean. There’s obviously going to be other dinners at Bustle …… you should check it out sometime soon.

Next week, I’d tell you about our nightclub experiences. I believe I’ll have more information for you because while I might not be a foodie, I feel rather comfortable inside a nightclub. See you then…. Cheers 🥂
Have a good week ahead.
